Mental Metal & Hard Rock Cross Punk Kick Ass Independent Music Official Homepage Forsaken Memory - Music that sounds like being hit round the head with a slice of lemon, wrapped inside a large polished five ton gold brick, or a small nuclear warhead! Forsaken Memory is about Music. Nothing more, nothing less. No delusions of grandeur. No trying to be something it's not! Although saying that, the music has been quoted to "have it's own very distinctive sound". 2006 has been a tough year for Forsaken Memory, But also one of great inspiration and achievement. Learning new skills and finding new grounds of exploration, Forsaken memory has reached a completely new level in it's development. With the Huge improvements in recording techniques. Expanding horizons and experimenting with new and innovative ideas has been the only logical way forward. The Expansion of Forsaken Memory's repertoire, has meant a consistent increase in the tracks abilities to convey their underlying emotions, thoughts and feeling. Bringing them to have nothing short of a life of their own. Even as if to say, they were creating themselves as they went along. Founded by Luke Gibson in march of 2006 Forsaken Memory was nothing more then a name. which in time has grown to take on it's own meaning, regardless of it's original origins. Forsaken Memory - "Forget Your Past | Remember Your Future" To live in the here and now and forget the mistakes of yesterday. The life we choose to leave behind, to become the person we hope to be today. Planning the release of "Fading" Forsaken Memory's Debut promotional EP in early 2007 Luke exclaims "It's still crazy trying to get everything done as fast as possible and still trying hanging on to the shreds and tatters of something resembling a normal life that i have left." "Forget Her" - One of the most emotionally powerful and personal songs so far, says Luke "Some of the lyrics were rewritten in the latest recording of this song to smooth out a few rough edges that hadn't been removed from the original. The song is about asking yourself if you can let go of the past and finding the strength in yourself to do so. Written about someone that meant a lot to me, an expression of my longing to let go of the painful memories, sounds rather sad really!" Laughs Luke "Even though thinking about it, I find that the Guitar Solo probably says more then the lyrics do on a spiritual level." "Life's too short" - The first songs to be recorded at release ready standard. Although it has under gone several remixes and masters since it first came to light back in April of this year. "I found the lyrics of this song probably sound a lot more abstract then I originally intended them to be. If you read the lyrics as a whole they make quite a lot of sense, but each line on it's own seems to hold it's own abstract meaning of sorts. Or maybe that's just me reading into things too deeply?" "Dead Skin" - "To be honest This song sounds far more serious then it actually is." Laughs Luke. Based on lyrics that were written by Luke at 16 years of age back in 2001 after listening to too many singers like Fred Durst He explains. The song became some what of a gimmick at college, a sort of 'Luke Gibson' Trade mark at the time. "I used to laugh quite a lot when some of the other students took the piss out of this song for it's obviously over extreme teenage angst lyrical content. Only for me to find them singing my lyrics and humming my tunes as the went about their day." explains Luke, showing a rather theatrical grin. Plans are also in the pipe line for a promotional video that will be released exclusively on YouTube and Myspace video for the song Forget Her. The footage has already been taken and is once again awaiting the production stage because of having to go back to the drawing board ,after some technical errors meant that all progress so far had to be scraped and started over again. "Being an independent artist and trying to do these things by yourself, isn't easy!" Luke states. "Without the backing of a Major or even Independent Record Label, financial issues can be a major factor in the progress of the music." Forsaken Memory presses forward into the unknown "Who knows what the Future hold for Forsaken Memory?" Says Luke. "Maybe nothing at all! And to be honest, who cares? As long as I enjoyed it along the way, then I guess it was all worth it." Luke smiles and nods with a humble grin "I can't read the future and I can't turn back now, I've come too far! Is this all I'm meant to be? maybe so! As I said, who knows? I sure as hell don't!" Luke chuckles. Forsaken Memory In the mean time keeps it's eyes peeled for a willing label but until that time Forsaken Memory's message to the world is clear... "ROCK ON!" The revolution is coming...

Forsaken Memory A Forgotten Independent Music Artist If you haven't come across this before you probably think I'm mad! but ever since i found the "All Your Base Are Belong To Us" phenomenon I've been hooked... Not like i would be hooked to a crack pipe, but hooked with a sence of mild humour anyway. This is easier to explain if i just tell you what the Wikipedia website has to say about 'All Your Base': Origin of All Your Base The text is taken from the opening cut scene of the English version of the 1989 Japanese video game Zero Wing by Toaplan. The phrase first made its appearance on the Internet in 1998 when an animated GIF of the opening scene to the game was posted. While the translation was generally poor, this phrase stood out as particularly humorous. The phrase slowly began to circulate over many webforums, and by mid-to-late 2000 many images were digitally altered so that the phrase was added in, either obviously or discreetly, especially after the Something Awful Forums got involved. Some of these images were compiled with those created and posted to a forum thread on TribalWar.com by their members. In 2000, Jared and Canadian Gabber group The Laziest Men on Mars created the song "Invasion of the Gabber Robots" using samples from the game theme by Tatsuya Uemura (including a robotic voice synthesis rendition of the complete cut-scene dialogue, which caused MP3.com to temporarily remove the track from their servers for perceived copyright violation). The well-known quotations were taken from the European localization of the Sega Mega Drive port released in 1992. The arcade version of Zero Wing does not include the quotation, though it does include an equally butchered ending; the intro for the PC Engine version has CD-quality spoken dialogue but has a completely different introduction. Zero Wing was never released in North America and therefore never came to the Sega Genesis, the North American version of the Mega Drive. The quotation demonstrated the Internet's power to spread idiosyncratic messages rapidly that would never have been covered by the traditional mass media. Although the fad has subsided, the phrase remains one of the most quoted examples of "Engrish." The phrase is also often used as a battle cry on many competitive video games, particularly those played over the Internet. Guild Wars has even made it a skill for the warrior class, where the character shouts "For Great Justice!" (a reference to another line from the Zero Wing intro, "Move zig. For great justice.") to improve his fighting abilities. In Guild Wars: Nightfall, there is a skill called "Make Your Time!" (a quotation of the line "You have no chance to survive make your time" from the Zero Wing introduction). AYB is often cited as an example of a meme—a self-propagating thought, idea, or message—because of its broad, rapid spread across the Internet and around the world. It has also been recognized as a snowclone, wherein a familiar phrase is modified by substituting new words into the phrase (for example, "All your bug are belong to me" as used on Wikipedia's MediaZilla main page). Newgrounds' Flash portal spawned many variants of the Flash animation with a wide range of content, creativity, and quality.
